We have three ways in which to straighten their smile or improve the ability to smile. One of course is standard braces. We do what’s considered class one ortho, which is basically a lot of just aligning and straightening of the teeth.
It’s not really trying to establish function with the orthodontics, but we’re able to do the standard braces in doing the aligner. We also have the ability in that we purchased the software to be able to make the aligners and the clear aligners. We have all the software and all the machining capability to make those aligners for the patients.
What the benefit that brings over companies like Invisalign or some of the other aligner companies is that we have found in doing the aligners, the years that we’ve done them is that patients try to wear them, but they don’t. And in so doing, there can be mid-course corrections that are necessary. And those mid-course corrections can then add more trays to the treatment.
We have found that at the eighth tray point, we evaluate the patient and making sure they’re still on that path, that we don’t have to do mid-course corrections with that patient. If we do, then there’s a very easy, just step to the side, make the additional trays and move forward without having to wait the duration it takes to get them from some of the other companies that are making the aligner trays. The third option of course is veneers.
And the thing that’s nice about veneers is that it’s instant ortho. And many times this is used in situations where if you’ve got a wedding, or maybe you’ve got a graduation, or maybe you’ve got some type of event like a reunion, and you’re needing and want that smile, but you don’t have the time to wait to get them straightened and ortho, then the veneers provide that opportunity of having it instantly done.
