The biggest aspect of helping an anxious patient is first listening to them and being able to understand what it is that makes them anxious and it can be different aspects of the treatment that can provide that anxiety and in addressing to the patient that they have full control during the visit and literally they do have full control because we do these treatments every day and we do it in a way that the patient can be comfortable so we know that we can allow the patient and help the patient be comfortable and if they’re not we give them the permission to stop and we stop everything goes back to the point for the patient to be able to be comfortable on top of that we talk a lot about what it is that creates the fear how they got to the point where they created the fear and what we want to be able to do to work through that to be able to give them a good experience the whole appointment regardless of what the treatment is that we’re providing is to address giving them a good experience and so it’ll be a short appointment it won’t be very long we’ll do aspects that will provide that gradual desensitization to the point where it’s easier to come in and spend time with us that’s our focus
Learn to Feel at Ease With Oral Care
Dental anxiety doesn’t have to keep you from getting the care you need. At our office, we’ve created a space where nervous patients can receive excellent dental care without fear. Our entire team is trained to help you feel comfortable from the moment you walk through our door.
We offer several options to ease your anxiety during treatment:
- Advanced Dental Technology — Our modern equipment makes procedures faster and more precise than ever before. Digital scanning and 3D imaging allow us to complete many treatments with minimal discomfort and shorter appointment times.
- Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide) — This gentle calming gas creates a pleasant, relaxed feeling while you stay conscious throughout your dental care. One of its biggest advantages is how fast it clears from your system, making it possible to drive yourself and resume your day immediately after leaving our office.
- Oral Sedation — We offer medication in pill form for those with more intense dental fear, providing a deeper sense of calm during your visit. This option requires arranging transportation with a friend or family member, but many patients appreciate having only minimal recollection of their dental procedure afterward.
There’s special value in choosing a dental team with decades of experience caring for anxious patients. Dr. Wilson and our staff have spent over 20 years perfecting gentle techniques that prioritize your comfort while delivering excellent results.
