We have patients who have emergency, particularly emergencies that involve pain. The pain that you experience from dental problems is enough sometimes, like in the movie Castaway, to pick up an ice skate and try to knock out the dude. It is unbearable pain.
So when a patient presents in pain, we expedite getting them out of pain before we have to try to do anything else in the way of gathering information or moving to the other aspects about it, because once a patient is relieved of the pain, then they’re much more agreeable in going through the process of gathering information, getting the necessary x-rays and stuff to be able to come up with a treatment plan. So one of the things we focus on is that if you have a situation that’s developed, we want you to come over as soon as you possibly can. We want you to get into our office so we can address it as quickly as we can.
There’s not come in at three o’clock or come in at two o’clock. It’s like come over here as soon as you can so that we can take a look at it and see what we need to do to try to get the emergency or the situation resolved.
